What We Can Learn from Major Cloud Cyberattacks

Between 2020 to 2022, notorious cloud hacks were found to be driven by simple technical errors, which could have been prevented with swift detection and response. A study by Mohamed Shaaban, solution architect at Sysdig, on six major cloud security incidents unveiled how hackers are using automated tools for persistent attacks. The study recommended improving the speed of detection and response to these attacks, proposing a 5/5/5 benchmark – detect within 5 seconds, triage within 5 minutes, and respond within 5 minutes.
