Over 380K more NYC students had info leaked, bringing total to over 1M

A cyber attack on the New York City Department of Education (DOE) has resulted in the personal data of more than 1 million students being compromised. The attack included the details of students’ names, birth dates, ethnicity, academic records, and school enrollment, but not social security or financial information. To protect against identity theft, the DOE is offering two years of free credit monitoring and identity theft protection services to all affected individuals.
