The NHS Dumfries and Galloway health board has apologised for the anxiety caused by a significant cyber-attack which exposed a “very large amount” of patient and staff-identifiable data. Although the attack caused no cancellation of operations or appointments, staff had to change the way they worked and accessed systems. The health board, aware of criticism relating to transparency, stressed the ongoing nature of this serious criminal matter.
