These dangerous scammers don’t even bother to hide their crimes

The “Yahoo Boys,” a group of cybercriminals based in West Africa, openly conduct fraud on various social media platforms. A Wired investigation found thousands of members across various Yahoo Boys groups on Facebook, WhatsApp, and Telegram. The scams involve sharing methods of cyber blackmail, selling false social media accounts, and using artificial intelligence for extortion. Despite removals by these platforms, many groups remain active. The origins of their name trace back to scams targeting Yahoo service users.
