New York Proposes Regulations For Stronger Hospital Cybersecurity

New York Governor Kathy Hochul has proposed new cybersecurity regulations, requiring hospitals to create new policies to protect against cyber threats. The governor’s budget includes $500 million to facilitate technology upgrades in line with the new rules. If enforced, hospitals will have one year to comply, which some experts claim may be a time-consuming and costly process. It is believed the rules could serve as a template for similar regulations in other states.
