Nearly 50% of UK SMEs have lost or lost access to company data in the last five years, according to research from Beaming, which also found that 25% of businesses make no effort to backup their data. Of the businesses surveyed, 12% keep only a single copy of their data. Inadequate backup practices result in greater risk of losing data and larger ransom demands in ransomware attacks.
