The Geneva Association warns that growing cyberattacks and geopolitical tensions reveal significant gaps in cyber insurance coverage. Despite growth in the cyber insurance market, a large protection gap remains. There is a need for cooperation between insurers, governments, infrastructure providers, and tech firms to better understand and address cyber threats. The report also suggests a government ‘backstop’ for major cyber incidents to encourage insurers to expand coverage and risk-absorption capacity.
