Farnborough 2026: Decent Cybersecurity Brings Sovereign AI and Post-Quantum Security to the World’s Largest Airshow

Farnborough, Hampshire — 20–24 July 2026. For five days this month, the airfield west of London became the centre of gravity for global aerospace and defence. Decent Cybersecurity was there, in Hall 4, unveiling two flagship products to an industry that is rethinking, at speed, what it means to trust its own digital infrastructure.

The largest edition in 78 years

The 2026 Farnborough International Airshow was billed as the biggest and most ambitious in the show’s 78-year history, and the numbers backed it up. A record 1,636 exhibitors from around 50 countries took part, 64% of them from overseas, across 28 international pavilions. Exhibition space sold out twice over, prompting organisers to add a sixth exhibition hall, part of a 140-day build across a site footprint of more than 500,000 m², expanded by a further 5,000 m² and delivered by over 4,000 contractors. More than 100,000 trade and public visitors passed through the gates.

Two shifts stood out. First, 22% of exhibitors were Farnborough first-timers, and many came from AI, emerging technology, aviation finance and supply chain rather than traditional airframe manufacturing. Second, the show’s long-standing 60/40 commercial-to-defence split moved to something closer to 50/50, the clearest signal yet of where the sector’s money and urgency now sit. Over 600 investors registered, US companies took roughly 35% of total exhibition space, and the UK Government ran a dedicated hub in Hall 3 for briefings and announcements.

The flightline and static park did not disappoint: Eurofighter Typhoon and F-35A Lightning II displays, the RAF’s A400M, the static debut of Boeing’s MQ-28 Ghost Bat, the first-ever pair of eVTOL aircraft flying on the same day, and GCAP present on the back of a £4.6bn contract. The week closed with the largest “Pioneers of Tomorrow” STEM day the show has run.

Decent in Hall 4

Decent Cybersecurity exhibited in Hall 4, within the official SME Defence Zone, a short walk from Airbus, Lockheed Martin, Embraer, KAI and the wider prime and tier-1 ecosystem. We used the week to reveal and demonstrate two flagship products.

Security Signal is an AI-powered open-source intelligence brief for the security and defence community. It continuously collects, analyses and triages open-source reporting on defence, security and cyber threats, alongside the legislative and regulatory developments that shape them and uses AI to cut the volume down to what actually matters. The premise is in the tagline: signal, not noise. Instead of monitoring hundreds of feeds, ministries, agencies and threat reports by hand, users get a curated, continuously updated picture of the operating environment.

SynapseCommand™ is a sovereign AI decision-support platform for military command. It helps commanders see faster, decide faster and act with confidence, plugging into existing command-and-control systems, running on infrastructure the customer controls, and producing cryptographically signed evidence for every decision it supports.

The architecture runs across seven layers, from sovereign infrastructure up to the natural-language commander interface. Data is ingested from existing systems through STANAG-aligned adapters. Eight specialised agents covering red-force behaviour modelling, blue-force posture, ISR fusion, scenario synthesis, course-of-action analysis, targeting and engagement, operational planning and lessons-learned assessment, reason in parallel and coordinate through a sovereign Agent Mesh. Commanders then interact through CommanderNL™, a classification-aware natural-language interface, and receive ranked, explainable, auditable options with an operator on the loop at every step.

Three principles run through the whole stack. Sovereignty by design: your data, your weights, your jurisdiction, with no hyperscaler dependency and deployment in-country, on-premises up to NATO SECRET, or fully air-gapped for disconnected tactical operations. Post-quantum security: CRYSTALS-Kyber, CRYSTALS-Dilithium, FALCON and SPHINCS+ across every layer, with hybrid modes for the migration period. Auditability: every inference TEVV-evidenced via VerityGridAI™, every command decision cryptographically logged on CyberFort Blockchain™.

SynapseCommand™ is also the platform Decent Cybersecurity is taking forward under NATO DIANA’s Decision Superiority for NATO Warfighters challenge, run in close collaboration with Allied Command Operations and Task Force Maven at SHAPE. Decent was one of ten innovators selected across the Alliance to integrate and demonstrate a solution alongside AI-enabled digital warfighting platforms including Maven Smart System NATO.

Beyond the stand, we took part in the SME pitch session organised by Enterprise Gateway, presenting Decent Cybersecurity to a jury and an audience of buyers, integrators and investors looking specifically for non-traditional suppliers.

What five days of conversations told us

We held dozens of meetings and stand-side conversations, with primes, tier-1 suppliers, national delegations, UK MoD-adjacent bodies, systems integrators and investors. A few patterns were hard to miss.

Several topics came up unprompted, again and again: supply chain crypto-inventory, key management on platform, the certification burden, and sovereignty of the cryptographic stack. That last one matters most. Across the halls we found a growing appetite for European and NATO-cleared alternatives at the cryptographic layer not as a procurement box-tick, but as a strategic requirement organisations are now willing to plan and budget around. It is the same instinct driving interest in sovereign AI: if a capability sits at the centre of national decision-making, the question of who controls the weights, the keys and the infrastructure stops being an implementation detail.

Next stop: the UK

Farnborough was our opening move in a deliberate push into the UK market. We came away with new customer conversations in progress, several partnership discussions worth pursuing, and a much sharper read on where the market is heading.
