Connecticut Lawmakers Call for More Cyber Protections

As cyber attacks on healthcare facilities increase, legislators and healthcare providers in Connecticut are working to improve cyber security. Healthcare institutes are a primary target due to the amount and sensitivity of data they hold. Senate Bill 1 aims to prevent cyber crime by improving health care safety and home care protections and by allocating $25,000 annually to public protection services for a cybersecurity event command scenario. State agencies’ financial involvement has led to changes in the bill.
