Autumn date to fix hacked blood transfusion services

Synnovis, a blood-testing partnership, has stated its hacked transfusion services may not be back to full functioning until autumn. The pathology partnership’s systems fell prey to ransomware hackers, causing considerable disruption and leading to the cancellation of many operations and appointments. Moreover, the delay in restoring services means continued impact on planned operations. The company did not pay the hackers and is now rebuilding its systems, which is expected to increase test numbers and types soon.
