A cyber first for New York

New York Governor Kathy Hochul is proposing to make New York the first state to require hospitals to adopt minimum cybersecurity standards. The administration is planning to back this plan with $500 million. The proposal requires hospitals to establish a cyberdefense program and plan for potential attacks. If the mandate passes, it might influence other states to adopt similar laws.
