This Season’s Flu Shot Is Shaping Up to Be Very Effective

The flu vaccine for the 2023 season is expected to be effective in preventing severe cases and hospitalizations. The U.S. formulation was updated to better protect against virus strains that emerged late in South America’s flu season. As flu season begins in the U.S., about a third of adults and children have received their flu shot. Both hand hygiene and staying home when ill can help control the spread of influenza.
