St Helens Council in the UK was significantly disrupted by a ransomware cyber-attack that occurred between 17 and 21 August, resulting in data being stolen and exported to the cloud. Systems were quickly restored and the incident was contained with a recovery plan in place. The Information Commissioner’s Office confirmed they were satisfied with the outcome and will not be pursuing enforcement.
