A former NHS secretary, Loretta Alborghetti, has been fined £648 after pleading guilty to illegal access of over 150 patients’ records. The Information Commissioner’s Office found that Alborghetti had viewed patient records over 1,800 times, including those of family members. The data accessed did not pertain to Alborghetti’s department, demonstrating lack of a business need or consent.
