Kaspersky’s projections for 2024’s Advanced Threats Landscape

Kaspersky’s Global Research and Analyses Team (GReAT) predicts an increase in Advanced Persistent Threats (APTs) by 2024 due to advancements in technology. They anticipate new exploits on mobiles, wearables, and smart devices being used to form botnets, refine supply chain attack methods, and use AI for more effective spear-phishing. State-sponsored cyberattacks and hacktivism are also expected to rise due to increasing geopolitical tensions. Hack-for-hire groups and supply chain attacks are seen as growing threats. Kernel attacks and the misuse of Managed File Transfer systems are other areas of concern.
