The FBI is failing to stop a cybercrime gang, known as “Scattered Spider”, from targeting US companies, wounding hundreds and costing millions, despite allegedly knowing the identities of around a dozen members for more than six months. The cyber attackers are highly aggressive and trouble law enforcement, with a loose-knit structure that makes them hard to pin down.
