Spanish fashion retailer Inditex is experiencing delays in rolling out a new anti-shoplifting system in its Zara stores due to bugs in the technology. The system uses radio frequency identification (RFID) chips, which eliminate the need for plastic tags on clothing. Echoing concerns voiced by store staff, initial tests have shown the tags are easily identifiable and removable, making shoplifting potentially easier.
