Over 5.5 million people were affected by a data breach involving an “unauthorized third party” on Yale New Haven Health’s network (YNHHS) on March 8. The party may have accessed personal information including Social Security numbers, patient type, and/or medical records. The YNHHS has begun to mail those affected, offering credit monitoring and identity protection. The company stressed that medical or financial information was not compromised.
