A new Android backdoor malware called ‘Xamalicious’ has infected over 338,000 devices via 14 apps on the Google Play Store, including ‘Essential Horoscope for Android’, ‘3D Skin Editor for PE Minecraft’ and ‘Logo Maker Pro’. The malware exploits the .NET framework and uses the Xamarin framework to access sensitive data and system functions. It is still active on devices that installed the apps since mid-2020.
