Security firm McAfee has discovered a malicious backdoor named Xamalicious in 14 popular Android apps available on Google Play, with over 338,000 devices infiltrated. Primarily affecting devices in the US, Germany, Spain, UK, Australia, Brazil, Mexico, and Argentina, Xamalicious hides within apps and accesses sensitive data and system functions using Accessibility Service. McAfee advised vigilance when downloading apps and regular device checks for threats.
FBI removed PlugX malware from U.S. computers
The FBI, in collaboration with international partners, successfully deleted “PlugX” malware from infected computers globally. The Chinese government-funded hacking group, “Mustang Panda,” that used a
