Winos4.0 Malware Targets Windows Users Through Malicious PDF Files

Taiwanese organizations have been targeted by a new wave of cyberattacks using the Winos4.0 malware framework, according to FortiGuard Labs. The attacks use malicious PDF attachments, disguised as tax inspection alerts, to establish persistent access to networks. The strategy relies on luring employees, particularly those in financial roles, into opening the attachments during the fiscal year-end period. If successful, the malware creates a backdoor, enabling data theft and potential disruption.
