Why digital equity is important to conducting better telemedicine

Alexandra Hunter, a virtual care consultant at Detroit’s Henry Ford Health, urged healthcare institutions to develop a digital equity strategy. Speaking at the HIMSS 24 Global Conference & Exhibition, Hunter highlighted the importance of ensuring that all patients have the necessary access and digital health literacy to use telehealth. She also highlighted that investment in such a strategy could improve health outcomes and address barriers to digital and telehealth equity.
