The relationship between cyber-insurance providers and policyholders is strained due to rising premiums, complex processes and lack of clarity in risk assessment. Since cyber insurance is only a few decades old, it is still trying to establish its footings. To improve this situation, insurers and policyholders need to work collaboratively to develop a viable risk assessment measure, possibly through electronically gathered metrics in a shared environment, which will help in creating effective policies.
