The Interisle Consulting Group has found that .US domain names are regularly used in phishing scams. The domain names, overseen by the U.S. government and used mainly by US citizens, are managed by GoDaddy. However, the study, which examined six million phishing reports, unearthed 30,000 .US-based fraudulent domains, suggesting that GoDaddy’s vetting processes are insufficient.
