WHO/Europe launches guide to strengthen cybersecurity in digital health

WHO/Europe has introduced guidelines for cybersecurity and privacy risk assessments in digital health for its 53 Member States, due to the increased threat from cyber attacks. The guidance encourages a proactive approach, ensuring the accessibility, privacy, and governance of digital health systems. The measures come following over 300 cybersecurity incidents detected within the bloc’s healthcare sector in 2023.
