What’s Behind the Cybersecurity Jobs Shortage?

Cybersecurity expert Bruce Schneier has refuted the notion of a deficit in cybersecurity positions globally. He noted that the shortage lies in computer scientists, developers, engineers and information security professionals with coding capability, understanding of technical security architecture, threat hunting and incident response skills, not generalist security roles. Hiring these positions requires a different approach from HR departments, as entry-level in this field often requires at least two to three years’ experience.
