The Energy and Commerce Committee of House Republicans has proposed to cut $880bn to fund a portion of President Trump’s domestic agenda. The plans, which avoided some of the most controversial measures, include reducing federal Medicaid funding for Planned Parenthood and cracking down on states’ ability to tax healthcare providers. The proposal also includes new work requirements for Medicaid beneficiaries. Concerns have been raised over possible increases in uninsured Americans. The Committee is set to meet for further discussions.
