Physician burnout is a significant issue affecting healthcare in the US, with over 45% reporting symptoms, potentially leading to medical errors, lower patient satisfaction, and staff shortage. A study involving three surveys covering almost 1,400 physicians found burnt-out physicians spent more time on administrative tasks and were less satisfied with their job. The rate of burnout doubled in 2021 compared to 2017 and 2019, with women and primary care physicians at a higher risk.
