What is a Proxy Firewall?

A proxy firewall is a network security system that filters messages to protect network resources. Serving as an intermediary between an internal network and the internet, it reviews traffic for security threats, allowing or blocking connections based on threat detection. Proxy firewalls also obscure details of the internal network, enhancing security. They can be installed in the network, on individual computers, or within a hardware device, and offer benefits like anonymity and improved website load times.
