Welltok, a Denver-based patient engagement firm owned by Virgin Pulse, experienced a data breach impacting over 8.4 million people. The breach was orchestrated by the Clop hacking group that manipulated a loophole in the file transfer tool of Progress Software. Exposed data included health plan members’ names, addresses, health information, as well as some social security numbers and insurance details. Various organizations affected by the breach are offering notifications and remedies.
