Watchdog set to fine NHS IT firm after medical records hack

NHS software provider Advanced Computer Software Group has been provisionally fined £6m by the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) over a 2022 data breach affecting over 80,000 people. The breach, which included medical records and sensitive personal information, disrupted health services and increased strain on the sector. The company has found no evidence of the leaked information on the dark web.
