Watch out – that LinkedIn email could be a fake, laden with malware

Cybercriminals are using emails that mimic LinkedIn notifications to distribute the ConnectWise Remote Access Trojan (RAT) malware, cybersecurity researchers warn. The phishing emails, purportedly from nonexistent companies and individuals, bypass spam filters due to recipient email authentication settings. Email security policy settings that fall short of fully rejecting suspicious emails may permit such phishing threats to land in recipient inboxes.
