There has been a rise in fraudulent updates for Google Chrome, which install malware onto users’ devices, often leading to ransomware attacks. The malware disguised as authentic Chrome updates is actually a remote access trojan. Cyber security experts have found a new version called “FakeUpdateRU”. Google has acted quickly to block most of the sites spreading this malware.
