ViperSoftX Malware Spreads Through Cracked Software, Targeting Unsuspecting Users

AhnLab Security Intelligence Center (ASEC) has discovered a cyberattack by suspected Arabic speakers who are distributing ViperSoftX malware to Korean users via cracked software and torrents. The hackers use legitimate-looking software as a disguise. Specific malware payloads include PureCrypter and Quasar RAT. ASEC researchers note a sophisticated use of technique and resources. Defence measures through updated antivirus solutions, heuristic scanning, and legitimate downloads are advised.
