Healthcare workers experience 60% of all US workplace assaults, which is driving a surge of departures from the industry. Over 4 to 5 million healthcare staff, or around 20% of the total workforce, quit in the past two years, including over 117,000 doctors in 2021 alone. Violence against healthcare workers is often underreported and some have been advised to consider it “part of the job.”

The Cybersecurity Working Group (CWG) within the U.S. Healthcare and Public Health Sector Coordinating Council (HSCC) has called on the country’s federal administration to work
