Google Cloud and IBM have launched artificial intelligence (AI) initiatives focused on healthcare. Google Cloud is working with Seattle Children’s Hospital to develop an AI agent called Pathway Assistant which enables access to vital information within the hospital’s clinical effectiveness programme. Meanwhile, IBM has acquired AI consultancy Hakkoda to bolster its enterprise intelligence services. These come alongside a new partnership between Socially Determined, Mathematica and MedeAnalytics to improve social determinants of health programme efficacy and reduce costs.
