Vendor error causes major patient record leak at New York hospital

Tens of thousands, and possibly up to millions, of patient records were exposed in a recent data breach at Bronx-Lebanon Hospital Center in New York. The breach was caused by a misconfigured rsync backup, according to the Kromtech Security Research Center. The hospital and iHealth Innovations, the company managing the backup, have not yet commented on the breach.
