UVA Health board member resigns 1 week after CEO

Thomas Scully has resigned from the board of the UVA Health System, protesting the university’s treatment of former CEO K. Craig Kent, MD. In a six-page letter, Scully accused the university’s board of visitors and its president of having a preconceived plan to remove Dr. Kent. This follows a no-confidence vote against Dr. Kent by UVA Physicians Group-employed faculty alleging concerns over patient safety and a negative work atmosphere.
