USA names suspected leaders of Qakbot and DanaBot malware

The US Department of Justice has unsealed indictments against the leaders of Qakbot and DanaBot malware rings, all residing in Russia. Rustam Rafailevich Gallyamov, who allegedly led the Qakbot cybercrime ring, and 15 others allegedly associated with DanaBot, have been named. Authorities have seized more than $4 million from the groups. While the individuals remain in Russia, international law enforcement agencies continue to dismantle their operations.
