A US Senate group has proposed the Health Care Cybersecurity and Resiliency Act of 2024 to aid health organisations under attack by cybercriminals. The sponsors are a bipartisan group of four senators: Dr Bill Cassidy, Mark Warner, John Cornyn, and Maggie Hassan. This would provide grants to help health providers improve their cybersecurity and respond better to attacks. It also requires the Department of Health and Human Services to coordinate with the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency and create a cybersecurity response plan.
