US FDA identifies cybersecurity risks in certain patient monitors, ET HealthWorld

The US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has identified three cybersecurity risks associated with patient monitors from Contec and Epsimed. These devices, which display vital patient details such as temperature and blood pressure, could potentially be remotely controlled by unauthorised users, or fail to work properly. Despite this threat, the FDA is currently unaware of any related cybersecurity incidents, injuries or deaths.
