UnitedHealth says Change hackers stole health data on ‘substantial proportion of people in America’

UnitedHealth Group affirmes that a ransomware attack on its subsidiary Change Healthcare resulted in the theft of vast amounts of private healthcare data of Americans. The company paid undisclosed ransom but the hacking group, RansomHub, began publishing portions of the stolen data. This cyberattack, which began in February, has cost UnitedHealth over $870 million and hugely disrupted the US healthcare system.
