UnitedHealth hires cybersecurity veteran as new CISO

UnitedHealth Group has appointed Tim McKnight as its new chief information security officer (CISO), taking over from Steven Martin. The appointment follows criticism of UnitedHealth’s cybersecurity measures after a ransomware attack on subsidiary Change Healthcare. McKnight, who has previously worked at companies including IBM and Google, spent eight years with the FBI. Last week, UnitedHealth revealed the February attack impacted over 100 million people in the US.
