UK wasting ‘tens of billions’ on crumbling infrastructure and badly run projects | Public services policy

The UK National Audit Office (NAO) chief, Gareth Davies, will warn that tens of billions of pounds are being wasted on mismanaged projects, outdated IT systems, and poorly maintained infrastructure. In his annual speech, he will suggest that savings can be made in large infrastructure projects, asset management, procurement, IT systems, and reducing fraud and error. Davies will also propose improved management of maintenance backlogs and the implementation of cross-government oversight boards for large projects.
