UK wasting ‘tens of billions’ on crumbling infrastructure and badly run projects | Public services policy

Davies suggests significant savings could be achieved through addressing maintenance backlogs and replacing outdated IT systems. Additionally, he calls for a new approach to large-scale projects, such as HS2 and hospital building plans, to prevent rising costs. Davies suggests the establishment of a cross-government oversight board could help manage these projects more efficiently.
