UK wasting ‘tens of billions’ on crumbling infrastructure and badly run projects | Public services policy

The UK is wasting billions of pounds on poorly managed projects, outdated IT systems and deteriorating infrastructure, says Gareth Davies, head of the National Audit Office (NAO). By addressing maintenance backlogs and replacing antiquated IT systems, Davies argues the government could save vast sums. He calls for a new approach to large projects and highlights the need for more effective management of procurement.
