UK wasting ‘tens of billions’ on crumbling infrastructure and badly run projects | Public services policy

The UK is wasting billions of pounds on poor project management and outdated IT systems, according to the head of the National Audit Office, Gareth Davies. Davies is set to urge for smarter government and strategic changes in his annual speech, suggesting that significant savings could be achieved by fixing maintenance backlogs and updating dated IT infrastructure. Both the Conservative and Labour are seeking cost savings and reforms before the upcoming election.
