NHS suppliers have been asked to help address the increasing threat of ransomware attacks. In an open letter, NHS England outlined best practices and requested steps such as maintaining backups, enabling multifactor authentication, and applying patches for known vulnerabilities. Suppliers were also encouraged to join NHS England’s soon-to-launch public charter and warned of their legal responsibilities for data protection.
