UK battles hacking wave as ransomware gang claims ‘biggest ever’ NHS breach

The UK’s largest NHS trust, Barts Health, is investigating a ransomware attack by the ALPHV gang, also known as BlackCat, which claims to have stolen 70 terabytes of data including employee ID documents and confidential emails. The trust was warned it had three days to prevent publication of the data, which has not yet been made public. The cyberattack is the second to hit the NHS in recent weeks.
