The Department of Justice (DOJ) and the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) have announced the removal of the malware PlugX from over 4,200 computers in the US. The operation was performed in association with international partners, addressing an extensive cyber threat from the “Mustang Panda” and “Twill Typhoon” groups sponsored by the People’s Republic of China. The DOJ and FBI are encouraging victims to increase their cybersecurity measures to prevent reinfection.
